W. C. Baker Rare Books & Ephemera is a Brooklyn, New York-based firm specializing in printed and manuscript materials relating to avant-garde literature, social movements, and unusual currents in science, religion, and the performing arts. We appear regularly at book fairs, sell online and through electronic lists and printed catalogs, and perform USPAP-compliant appraisals and related services for both institutions and private collectors.
Founder Will Baker holds degrees in religion, museum studies, and library science and is an alumnus of Rare Book School and the Colorado Antiquarian Book Seminar. He began working in the rare book business in 2004 as a cataloger in Americana at the William Reese Company in New Haven, Connecticut. In 2011, Will took a hiatus from the trade to serve as the first executive director of the Institute Library in New Haven, where he worked to revitalize its collection, membership, and community programming. He returned to the business full-time in 2014 and is a proud member of the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America (ABAA) and International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB). |
